In short

This is a personal site. There are no accounts, no cookies for tracking, no advertising, and no database. The little that is collected is described below, in full.

Say something

The front page has one line of input. What you type there is sent to Claude, an Anthropic model served from Microsoft Azure, to produce the short reply you see. Microsoft processes it under Azure's terms and it is not used to train models. Nothing you type is stored on this site.

If the reply offers to pass your message on, your message and the reply are sent to me by email, through Resend. That email is the only copy. I keep it for as long as the conversation is live and for no more than twelve months after.

Your IP address is held in memory for up to ten minutes to limit how often the input can be used. It is not written anywhere.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics. It counts page views in aggregate without cookies and without following you to other sites. It records the page, the referring site, a rough location at city level, and the browser and device type. Vercel keeps that data under its own retention policy.

It also uses Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used: where people scroll, click and pause, replayed as an anonymous session. Clarity runs here without cookies, so one visit is never linked to the next. Anything typed into the contact line is masked before it leaves your browser and never appears in a replay. Microsoft keeps that data under its own retention policy.

The blog

The blog is static pages. Reading it collects nothing beyond the analytics above. Share buttons open the other service in a new tab; nothing is sent until you act there.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of anything I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being processed. Write to contact@chriscarswell.co.uk.

Changes
